Nige L

Hi everyone,

Over time I have received feedback comments regarding the amounts of ads in some of my video posts; most notably the STAR WARS Trilogy Radio Dramatisations.

To be clear, my YouTube channel is not set up to receive any income. The ads placed throughout the videos are displayed by YouTube with a statement provided by YouTube to me:

"Video cannot be monetised, Ad revenue paid to copyright owner."

The listings provided to me of copyright materials in the STAR WARS Trilogy Radio Dramatisations are the excerpts of original score.

As I have stated in my written information accompanying each video, “I hold no right to the material nor claim any credit for the final product. All content ownership remains with the proprietor of the original works…”

As much as I share your frustrations to the volume of ads and interruptions to the telling of the stories, I ask for your persistence, your patience and your understanding that it’s better to have these recordings available to us as they are, then to have them removed all together due to a ‘Cease and Desist’ claim by the copyright owner.

Thank you.

Nige L.

If you skip to the end of the audiobook then hit the refresh button it clears all of the ads

I fall asleep to these videos every night and the ads have never bothered me haha. Though, I understand people wanting to hear it uninterrupted. Thank you for these videos. They have oddly helped with my recovery.

The ads are a necessary evil... So be it! Please keep this up, I listen to it frequently. Thank you for posting it!

Couldn't agree more sir - If given the choice of the mild inconvenience of skipping through your post and then returning to the beginning to remove the ads, or paying a premium elsewhere, it's a no brainer...

Thanks for the upload. People should just pay the $10 a month for YouTube red and not watch ads. Don't be cheap its worth it.

Bro the Star Wars ones are awesome. I would also enjoy the prequels done just like them. Especially, Revenge of the Sith! I would listen to that all the time

I have a paid play music account, this has removed all the adds from YouTube. It costs me $10-15/month and everyone in my family has add free music and videos. I think it’s worth it. Thanks for the radio dramas, they’re great for days when I’m working alone.

If it's a big deal, just find a YouTube content copier and download it. You won't have adds. I don't know if it's legal but........ just saying. I own all 3 on cd but use them here from time to time if I dont feel like getting out of bed...lol

Adblock plus is free to use for individuals and works perfectly. Nige gets no income from this and Lucas doesn't need the money. Adblock does accept donations from those of us that find value in their product. In 15 years, I've never seen a YouTube ad and don't allow them to take my information beyond that which my ISP sells them.

@JourneyOnLife

It's fine. I don't mind and it was very nice of you to have the star wars videos. Thank you : )

Thankfully, I pay for premium so I don't have to deal with that, but I hear what you are saying. It's unfortunate that people still don't understand how all of this works. I highly recommend paying for premium though! It makes many videos that would otherwise ot be worth the ads and better yet music/audio isn't interrupted by super long ads etc. It's the only streaming service I pay for....besides Plex, but that is so I can stream my own stuff elsewhere. Anyway thanks for the uploads! I can't believe that I have never stumbled across these before over the decades. They are fantastic and imo even better than the movies in some ways. I love all the detail they added. Thanks!!

Maybe you can upload the files to a sharefiles server? I am sure, the uncompressed audio would be useful.

I listened to these via this Open Culture article: http://www.openculture.com/2020/05/the-original-star-wars-trilogy-adapted-into-a-14-hour-radio-drama-by-npr-1981-1996.html No ads played, so I didn't even know this was an issue.
