In Norway most of the carts you have to put a coin in or a chip thing in it to get it lose as they are attached with chains. Once you put the coin in the chain pops out. To get your coin back you have to put the cart back and attatch the chain. Easy peasy.

If there's no homeless person offering help, yes, if there is someone, I let them get the coin.

When I was little, my mom made some sort of game out of returning the shopping cart. Even now, I still feel a little excited whenever I return a shopping cart because the game was such a big part of every shopping trip we had when I was a kid, lol

I view it as doing a basic small task that saves retail workers from having to clean up after your bullshit. They have enough to deal with

I went to target the other day and they said they didnt have any carts. So there were 4 people telling everyone who went in the store they had someone getting carts. When i left a half hour later there were still 4 employees telling people they were working on getting more. Meanwhile there were hundreds 50 yards from the main entrance, in their extra cart area...

I always feel like an asshole for not returning it to where the rest of them are, but I usually go shopping for food at night, but then I remember that its someone job to collect them, someone gets paid, and I usually try to push it where it supposed to go, if I cant, I try to put it as close at I can

Can't remember if I ever saw a shopping cart that was not returned. I'm German. Same in every European country I traveled to.

Honestly depends on the situation when I lived in Florida i really didn't want to move the cart across the parking lot when it started pouring rain and I know others do but if it was raining before I go shopping I bring it back because I've been had time to get a jacket or something I hope my little rant is a good enough reason for why sometimes I don't if not then get a restraining order or something

In germany, you have to insert a coin into the cart before you can take it. If you dont put your cart back, you wont get your coin back...needless to say more than 90% want their money back xD
