Nostalgia Nerd

If you folks have been following my social media, you'll likely know about an arcade venue I'm looking to open up soon, along with some fellow collaborators. I'll post a video update soon, but if you'd like to follow the venture that will be known as Barcadia, please sign up for the Kickstarter pre-launch at www.kickstarter.com/projects/nostalgianerd/barcadi…

My advice stick to the machines with diferent control gimmicks. Concentrate in experiences that most of people can't have (because of space, not available and price). I still renember the unique experiênce of riding a bike to fly in a game.

I hope it goes well for you cause in my state barcades come and go like panties and boxers on prom night. Which makes me sad, I haven't drank since I was 22(I'm 35) cause I didn't feel it was worth my money anymore but still go for food and arcade experience since my local arcade closed after 20 years.

I didn't realise this was your own project. Good luck mate. After I visited bury arcade club I felt like giving up my entire life to run a place like that.

Haha you 're not the first to come up with this name. In my town, we have a great arcade named "Barcade". It's in Greece

Helps to have an Ultimate MK3 systems, MK2 as a bonus is nice but UMK3 is a must for MK fans. Killer Instinct was also a great fighting game I don't see most places. 👍 Marvel vs Capcom 2 is also a big hit. I also highly suggest having tournaments for those games to force people a reason to come there to play & not just use emulators etc. at home. Having just the old classic games didn't work the best here. People would come in once and give them a try but quickly get bored and are done their experience within 1 visit. The games people want to go there to play socially help draw more people in and get people meeting new people there and more reasons to return and hang out with those people more. Pinball machines were also the bigger hit here vs classic arcades

Huh, that's funny, I know a fellow that's opening an independent gaming cafe for video games, tabletops and TCGs in the Norwich area!

It's not an "Arcade venture" though is it? It's a pub that has some arcades in. FFS man.
