(Conversation scene between Mashu and Amakusa)

Mashu: "Um, what is it that you want to talk with me about...?"

Amakusa: "About your shield. It looks like it's getting a little rusty."

Mashu: "......!"

Amakusa: "Has it gotten like that before?"

Mashu: "No, not even once..."

Amakusa: "You might be a Shielder, but your essence as a Servant might be close to that of a Ruler."

Mashu: "......A Ruler?"

Amakusa: "The Shielder qualification might be similar. To protect many and defend them from all kinds of calamity. However, watch out. The Shield is rusted, which means that in your heart, that awareness is crumbling. The miracle-like power you have as a Demi-Servant is disappearing, like the miracle that it is."

Mashu: "———. ———."

Amakusa: "—However, that might be for the best. To begin with, I can only imagine what kind of inhumane experiment needed to give birth to a Demi-Servant."

Mashu: "...But right now, we need this power."

Amakusa: "If so, I advise you to keep that mental balance in check. But, I want you to keep this to heart. Your Shield rusted isn't necessarily a bad thing. That simply means that your way of life... is trying to take a different path than before. So that you can walk up the parting path with your head held high. In this Singularity, please give it your best a little more."

(Conversation scene between Mashu and Mordred)

Mordred: "Tsk, you! That shield is our Round Table! Did that Galahad bastard coach you into it? That shield is looking pretty heavy for you, isn't it? I understand. After all, you need to be something that surpasses being human in order to make perfect use of it! It's impossible for normal humans! Isn't that so, hey, Galahad! I didn't think someone as selfless and impartial as you would take someone's side!"

Mashu: "....?"

Mordred: "Ah, that's not it... or is it, maybe? You were entrusted with that shield, weren't you? That being so, you're Galahad's substitute. I don't really like it, though."

Mashu: "I... I'm not his substitute. I am incapable of judging all things completely selfless and impartially like him."

Mordred: "Ahn? Oh, seems like I was correct in calling out to you. Sounds interesting, so let me hear more about your situation."

Mordred: ".....Your shield feels heavy, you say. Well, true, that shield does reflects Galahad's mentality. It's no wonder for it to get heavier when your mentalities get out of synch. So, how about you just throw that shield away for once?"

Mashu: "I can't do that!"

Mordred: "Why?"

Mashu: "----I cannot throw away something I've been entrusted with for selfish reasons."

Mordred: "That's your whole reason? Well, do what you want, I guess. More importantly, there's something I want to ask: is Galahad at this singularity?"

Mashu: "...Eh!? Ah, no, well... I'm sorry, I'm not really sure about that..."

Mordred: "Well... and here I was sure you were Galahad's Master, or maybe even his Servant... I was thinking that if that was the case then I should go give him good punch in the face..."

Mashu: "Why?"

Mordred: "Because I don't like his guts."

Mashu: "...Yes?"

Mordred: "I don't like the fact that he has entrusted you with the Round Table. I don't like the fact that he isn't around either. I wasn't able to punch him during my previous life, so I wanted to at least get one shot at it for once."

Mashu: "...That's messed up."

Mashu: "By the way, I'd like to ask one thing too. What kind of person was Galahad?"

Mordred: "What kind of person, huh. There aren't really any interesting episodes about him, but well... he was a quiet and calm bastard. Ah, he was also the type to view things from a bird's point of view. He was similar to these disgusting enemies we have around here that call themselves angels. He was very machine-like."

Mordred: "Selfless servitude doesn't even begin to describe it. From the very start, he never had any human-like desires. That's why he was able to have absolute impartiality towards things. So impartial that made him seems extremely cold. ...Though I do feel that sometimes he would at least shrug his shoulders once in a while when it was about Father or Lancelot... It was like he didn't had any opinion about it. Personally, I felt like punching them, though. Well, that's the kind of guy he was."

Mashu: (An inhuman, absolute impartiality... so Galahad-san was really that kind of person... but I... I don't think I can be like that anymore...)

Mordred: "I guess that is why, that too ended up not being the correct thing to do."

Mashu: "...Huh? W-why is it? I thought Galahad-san was in the right."

Mordred: "You mean about his correct ways? Well, right. After all, he opted for fairness over Britain's future. He sacrificed everything for his personal belief. In other words, he abandoned Britain to its death by living the way he thought that was correct."

Mashu: "Ah..."

Mordred: "I mean, of course it's not only his fault. To begin with, I was the reason everything happened, after all. If you were to ask me if things would be different had he alone moved differently, then I'd say that perhaps the conclusion wouldn't be much different. However-----he didn't move. And what matters is that this was the decision he made. But what about you, Shielder?"

Mordred: "Are you going to follow in Galahad's footsteps, and walk the path of a Ruler - the impartial arbitrator? Well, I'm good with either way. Alright now, get going already."
