Christopher Hazard

Hey everyone -- Just thought I would update with the current total, there are a few pending transactions that will alter this number in the coming hours, but I am pretty blown away at the outpouring of support here, and once we hit this goal, I'm going to shut it down and just go back to our normal operation where we rely on passive donations and largely on patreon to keep the ship floating. We have a lot of operating expenses, and don't create revenue with this page (hello copyrights!) so it's kind of an atypical thing for youtube and in the video editing space to do something that costs plenty of money and time without a profit motive -- nevertheless, I still absolutely loathe being in a situation where we're actively asking for money, so once again thank you to everyone who has made this as painless as possible in what has basically been just a day or so -- I know the last mile will be the toughest in getting to the finish line, but I hope to have this concluded before the end of this week (or weekend).

Just for reference, here are the ways you can contribute if you have the ability:
Venmo: @Christopher-Hazard-0
Paypal: Christopher.Hazard@utoledo.edu
Cashapp: $hazard4k

You can also email me directly at hazardc at gmail dot com fi yo

I will continue to update this on a daily basis, and as soon as the goal is met, I will announce it and take it down. In the chance that we do happen to hit an "overage" before I notice, any funds will go directly into updating software licensing, storage upgrades, or into hardware I may have mentioned in an earlier post (KVM switch is at the top of my list, which allows you to use the same keyboard/mouse/other peripherials between multiple machines, so at the press of a button you can use the same combination of equipment seamlessly switched between machines. This is something i already planned on buying)

I don't foresee us "going over" before i notice it, but I do want to put an end to the "active fundraising" type stuff as soon as we get there. This leaves me in the original spot I planned on being in (Spending $1500 of my own money to fix the situation we were currently in, and ending up with one fully fucntional and upgraded workstation)

Where we are at has absolutely taken a lot of stress off of my shoulders already, so I'd like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who has pitched in so far, everyone that plans on doing so before this wraps up, and everyone who has ever sent us a penny in the past to help with this. I never imagined things would get this "big" when I started doing this on a 10-year old desktop with a used $200 graphics card at home just after we got hit by covid in the summer of 2020, but wow here we are, and I can't overstate how grateful I am for the people who have supported us in the past to get to where we are today, who have month after month supported this channel to the point where we have not had to actively ask for a single thing since December of 2020. 4.5 years of voluntary passive suppport has kept us afloat until now, and we're very close to clsoing this chapter (and exponentially increasing our production output and quality).

We do have some things that will come in the future that will be more long-term in scope, but I have some more creative ideas on how to raise those funds without just putting a "Cold ask" out there for this..

Again, thank you. I am still a bit thrown back by the outpouring of initial support on this, and the fact that we are just 29.5% away from closing the book on this and being able to just focus on the music again.

Thank you <3

@Hazard4K

I will update this in a few hours, I think we are either very close or possibly even there. If there's an overage, it will just stay in these accounts (i usually consolodate it into the venmo) I am still going to personally cover the other ~$1500 from this whole debacle out of my own pocket as promised. Thank you to anyone who has or is planning on helping us out, and likewise just thank you to anyone who supports this work in general. I absolutely do not expect people to be able to just throw money at this stuff, I know what it's like to live on a budget without moeny to spare for anything but survival. It's all good. If it does happen to go over (agian, I'm really not sure, I have to tally numbers from 3 different sources and i haven't looked at anything today) -- any funds over that will not go to paying this off -- , anything over that will be recycled into the same thing that things like patreon and other normal "passive" donations go to -- rainy day funds for broken stuff, overhead, storage, and other equipment and directly related costs, same as we have been doing since December of 2020. This is the first time the dam has been breached (or that I just didn't cover it all myself if our fudning was low. We have been very fortunate to get alot of help with this project over time, so the out of pocket money I spend has been significant, but FAR less than it would be without people who CONSTNATLY support this project through patreon or individual donations on people's own terms. That said, I am trying to keep putting some of the normal donations we get through patreon and random venmo/paypal/cashapp etc stuff aside starting now to fund storage expansion specifically. While I have a lot of clean-up work to do on my local NAS, that is gong to be a looming issue moving forward, and it's going to cost a few grand, but I think will be able to fund that over time. The other major expense we have coming up is potentially a gpu cluster, I'm still waiting until end of summer time to figure out where things land with this, and if it will be viable for what we want to do. (I'm hopeful, if you want to look this up specifically, look up "Intel battlematrix" -- that is the hardware we are waiting to arrive to market, then we will have to validate whether it will work for the work we're doing. If it does, it will create a MASSIVE leap in the quality of what we can do with this old footage, and it is basically taking something that would have cost $500k+ just last year and putting it into a package that we might be able to snag for 5-10k this year. For more information on what battlematrix woudl be able to do for us, just see the video i posted a few weeks ago LINK: https://youtu.be/ohsBIWzs8EE Also see the original source just to see how much different it looks LINK: https://youtu.be/OQNkYGDCkC0?si=nQ4ZJCgPGTAUZQKY&t=7431 To do that level of upgrade, we still really do not have the capability when it comes to hardware to push things that far when working with stuff that is more than a few minutes long (welll, this new upgrade will open some headroom in spare time, so i hope we can at least MAYBE do a couple indiviudal sets here and there, and i will absolutely do some singles to that spec (and better, still a work in progress workflow that's getting better) -- the hardware is still unobtainable until something like the above mentioned "battlematrix" type setup is released to the public. That's something worth every penny in the end and I think we'll be fine getting that funded with some of our "halo donors" of the past stepping in (and i will absolutely put a big chunk toward it) ... It's just next level. I plan on illustrating that with better quality source material very soon. :) Anyways, I never plan on writing novels, this is the bad side of being able to type over 100wpm i suppose :) THANKS EVERYBODY <3
