Retromation

Taking the day off for uploads, figured I'd make a post here and throw in some rambling scattered thoughts. If you're looking for something to watch, go check out my new Demon Bluff video.

1) I think it is unfortunately time for Monster Train 2 to end, people just aren't really watching it and the runs are pretty long. I am very likely to return with a substantial update. 50 episodes was more than I planned to do!

2) You guys seemed to really like Demon Bluff, I'll do at least a little more of that, maybe cycling it out for some other variety when I feel I've had enough of the demo so I don't burn out.

3) I could possibly end up taking a break from Bazaar until Season 5 (Aug 13) because I'll be honest, the meta is extremely stale right now and it has been a long time with no patches to shake anything up. End of patch sweat takes a lot of the fun out of the game for me as someone who likes to not play the same thing over and over, and we effectively have had three weeks of that. Truthfully I probably won't take a break, but just throwing out there that I could so it is less of a surprise if I do.

4) A lot of people asking about specifically Undermine 2 and Neon Abyss 2. I'll be blunt they look really rough, I don't know if I intend to cover them or not.

5) I have a special video on the horizon that will be an attempt at me doing something more experimental and I hope you keep your eyes peeled and show it some love when I do. (you'll know it when you see it)

Feel free to ask questions and I'll answer them if I feel like it and have time.

@fade2dblack

Personally, I would be excited to see you do a series of one-off episodes revisiting games that you played "back in the day" to see how you feel about them after a year or more.

I'd definitely watch some "He is Coming" videos again. I think the kingmaker mode scratches a similar itch to the bazaar as it's async PVP where you put together a build over time. Admittedly I don't think there's more than maybe twenty videos there as a stretch, but it would be fun to see

Fair. Excited to see more of the Demons Bluff. One or two more videos should be enough I think

Sad to hear about the end of the Monster Train, you were my favourite Monster Train 2 youtuber. I'll visit again when you catch the train again!

I feel you on both the Bazaar break and Monster Train revisit after a big update.

@ManiacalSpy

It's perfectly understandable. You deserve the time off, and you should be able to have fun with the stuff you're playing, so I totally support you going for that if it means taking a break when stuff gets stale. I'm looking forward to seeing the new video!

Perfect timing for the fabled pivot back to the truly most popular retromation content. Path of Exile. All jokes aside, some of my absolute favourite content of yours is when you play something pretty outside of your normal wheelhouse, like Path of Exile or your recent Farm Simulator videos. Happy to hear that experimental content is coming.

I have watched you on and off for 7+ years, and, no matter what you publish, I enjoy it! Do what you enjoy and it will make amazing content. You are wholesome and entertaining, and I can’t describe how much your videos helped me through tough times! Keep up wheatever you like, because your personality is incredibly welcoming and comforting, and I think that anyone that finds you will feel as though you are their friend. Keep up your good work, and I hope you never feel burnt out or unappreciated!

As much as I enjoy The Bazaar I agree that watching a certain number of meta builds in rotation every time just isn't that exiting after a while. Demon Bluff is enjoyable and the variety is much appreciated. Do you feel like playing some other games even if it's not a series like Shroom and Gloom, Oaken Tower (it's very rough since it's new, but you may like it ), Omelet You Cook, maybe an episode of The Last Flame. Honestly any game you find enjoyable would be nice to see 😁

@reverse_engineered

It's nice to see a bit more variety. I used to love watching your looks at new games and the odd series like Tower Tactics or Card Survival: Tropical Island, but Bazaar just isn't my thing and it has come to dominate your content. Obviously it's up to you what you like doing and what gets you views, but just know that some of us aren't watching anymore because we aren't interested in Bazaar and miss your old style of content.

@MinorKeyMystery

I really enjoy the vibe you bring to your videos, especially for The Bazaar. Admittedly though, and I am very likely to be in a minority for this, I've found that I generally prefer to watch more livestream-vod-style Bazaar content, specifically because I enjoy the uncertainty of seeing whether or not a run will get there and not knowing what items will be used ahead of time. While I'm not suggesting changing anything up with how you approach your content, I figured a post like this is a good place to offer such a perspective (like if my data point ended up being part of a larger pattern). On a different note, I definitely understand potentially slowing down or taking a break from The Bazaar until the next season, especially with this season getting extended and consequently having a longer phase of end-season-staleness.

I've definitely felt MT2 runs dragging too. Like my own not yours. It's been a hell of ride though with a ton of content. Thanks for continuing it for as long as you did!

Just like watching you play games. Play what you enjoy I don't care about it being a new game or a run with variety. Just like seeing you have fun :) thanks for all that you do ❤

@alexperez206

Thanks for the transparency Reto. I’m happy to watch whatever you’re having fun with. I like when you do the series of games that have a lot of build variety (MT2, Bazaar, Undermine 1, etc) but I also love when you just cover random rogues you find. Whatever you feel like playing, I’m sure your community will enjoy. Take whatever time you need to figure out how to break the banality in a way that is enjoyable to you, primarily.
