Just occurred to me that the incomparable princess of R'n'B/Hiphop & indeed the Queen of the Damned, the late Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 1979 - 25th August 2001) has been gone (24 years) longer than she was alive (22 years). Supremely talented & a precocious performer, Miss. Haughton suffered the excruciating distinction of being exploited by sleazy men as a teenager & avaricious promoters as a young woman, indeed what resulted in her untimely demise on a day like today in 2001 in a ramshackle plane ✈ flown by an inebriated, unlicensed debutant pilot at Marsh harbour, Bahamas. Keep RIP Princess.
