hey you might have noticed that i've not been putting hard subs in recent clips -- I talked to a few people and came to a conclusion that Clio's speech clarity is good enough that people who needs subs can use the YouTube closed captions (CC) function and it'll work just fine.

As I've mentioned before, making hard subs take up a huge portion of the time in the making of a clip, so I've decided to only do hard subs when the situation requires it (e.g. a collab or unclear audio) or if I feel like it makes the video experience better, so that I can use the time for other aspects of the video, e.g. more fact checking/more edits/more clips being produced. Cheers!

Fun fact: I can pretty reliably identify Clio's "uhm"s from the audio wave.

You know you spent a lot of time when you can identity words by their waveform

For the better, this may also increase the amount of clips released, rather than have you spend more time and energy on a single clip. As always, great work and I, with many look forward to the clips. Cheers!

Since Clio has been a teacher probably she practiced how to express herself clearly, that's why I love her stream and her voice

My roommate is a video editor and he has the same thing with the waveform lol. He’ll skip through a vod and look for laughs in the waveform in order to pull clips. It’s pretty neat what you can pick up on pouring over hundreds of hours of vods of the same person

Oh wow, I didn't even notice. You're right about Clio's speech clarity, though as an English-speaker, I've never been a fan of subs for EN vtubers. They're kind of distracting for me.
