Hey guys! Dropping a video soon about the PT GT. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to have its first start yet, but I'll explain why in the video and talk about what the setbacks have been... some valuable information for the manual swap incoming! Thanks for your patience as I've been attempting to sort this project out ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Im a big fan, I finally swapped out the broken getrag and put the n/a manual transmission in from a parts car, I ran into some issues but found out you have to use the flex plate and starter from the n/a and the shifter housing and cables and extend one sensor on the transmission and of course the cv axles. One thing to note the oil cooler hoses on the oil filter housing will rub on the cv boot and cause a coolant leak. Just found out this yesterday and used a piece of aluminum and a clamp

Iโ€™m only 15 and my grandma gave me her 2003 PT cruiser GT (which is an automatic) and I plan on keeping it my whole life, I think itโ€™s a fun little car. Itโ€™s also in excellent condition, I love taking care of it.

My grandson has the manual transmission halfway out of our 2001 PT Cruiser. We rebuilt the front end and then the transmission began to make noise. Curious to see what it is when he gets it out. He finishes aircraft mechanic school this month, so studying comes first. Thought about buying a us d one somewhere. Rebuilds are way too pricey, so out of the question.
