Look the one I've encountered ( since I was 6 yrs old) it depends, some are confused, some are angry , some ask for help, I've seen an angel ( my little sister who I never met my mother lost her in miscarriage) she spoke to me , my mothers first husband( didn't know she was married before my father) ,I've seen shadow people ( those are NOT GOOD THINGS I believe they are demons) , I have cleared spirits from homes by reading from the bible ,claiming The home in the name of Jesus Christ! You HAVE TO MEAN IT THEY WILL LEAVE!
