Here's a tip for anyone making MAP thumbnails, especially when entering contests - or at least what I think about as a host.

Having pretty art is really nice, and important, but text is the MOST important. There have been plenty of times when I've decided against using a beautiful piece of art because the text is too small or not integrated very well into the draw. YouTube video previews are very small! It's important to be able to read that text, and that it looks nice instead of just the basic text tool slapped on top. It's something I notice a lot in thumbnail contests.

Take a look at a bunch of MAP thumbnails if you want; you'll notice how much clear and striking text placement there is.
