It's happened to me too, to a song that I had permission from the real owner too, but youtube doesn't really protect you from false copyrights

My Billy Herrington video sadly got copyright claimed — not for using the actual song, but just for having the same melody as it.
Yup, just the melody. Now the company gets every penny the video makes, even though it’s only a small part of the edit.
It’s incredibly frustrating. I could cut that section out and keep the money, but honestly, I think the video is stronger with it. It might be the best tribute out there to Aniki and the incredible life he lived, and I don’t want to compromise that just to dodge a claim. So yeah… I’m taking the hit.
