Dear leftists, let me explain the problem with the infamous BBC edit of Trump‘s speech.
The claim that Donald Trump incited violence requires an uncharitable interpretation of Trump‘s words (In fact, if you want to prove the case, it would require mind-reading).
As a political YouTuber, I have spoken with hundreds of other conservatives since that speech. None of us actually interpreted Trump's speech to mean, "execute a coup d'etat". ZERO.
So, Leftists hear what they want to hear. And Conservatives hear something different.
But there is a third-party, and this is the critical point.
There are many people who are disinterested in politics, aren't on a side, and just don’t pay attention.
So, when a prestigious news organization, like the BBC, presents a clip of Trump that has been doctored in a way that more convincingly supports the incitement interpretation, it becomes a form of propaganda, targeting these people.
BBC executives, producers, and editors all know this. This is the business that they are in. At the core of journalistic ethics is the concept of neutrality. That was very clearly abandoned here.
I wish journalistic ethics would make a comeback, but I don’t see this happening anytime soon.
Leftists believe that Trump is the devil and ousting him is an end that justifies any means whatsoever, no matter how evil.
Of course, Donald Trump is not the devil.
But maybe the BBC is.
