"Swachh Andhra - Swachh Diwas - Swachh Visakha" Program Held Today at VMRDA Smart City Park
As per the directives of the Andhra Pradesh government, the "Swachh Andhra - Swachh Diwas - Swachh Visakha" program, conducted every third Saturday by VMRDA, took place today at VMRDA Park. The event was inaugurated by Chairperson MV Pranav Gopal and Metropolitan Commissioner KS Vishwanathan, IAS, along with students from Gayatri Vidya Parishad School. Following the inauguration, they participated in cleaning MGM Lawn-1 and the nearby beach by removing garbage, debris, and plastic waste.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness as a part of Swachh Andhra Pradesh, highlighting that clean surroundings contribute to better health. He reiterated that this initiative is an ongoing process and urged everyone to minimize plastic usage to ensure a sustainable future for the next generations.
Later, the Metropolitan Commissioner administered a pledge to the students and staff. Addressing the gathering, he stressed that cleanliness and hygiene should be upheld as a social responsibility. He also instructed the staff to arrange for regular waste disposal.
