Who is the funniest superhero when written well?

I love 60s/70s Ben the most, ill never forget the time he flattened an escalator in a mall into a slide so that he could get down it a little faster

Ben looks at the results: "What a revoltin' development this is."

When well written, Spider-Man has made me laugh out loud uncontrollably. That’s difficult to do when reading a joke rather than hearing it.

I've laughed harder at dp by Joe Kelly and dp by Daniel way than all the other comics I've ever read.

Moon Knight. His dry and unhinged moments are hilarious to me. Two from the same issue. Moon Knight drives up in a limo next to a gangster and slowly rolls down the window "Hello." And after opening the door to a man holding a gun to a little girls head after beating the shit out of an entire building "Drop the bat!" "But I love this bat."

I love Spider-Man when written well. Pretty much all of Bendis' Avengers/New Avengers is some of my favorite Spidey moments ngl

Ultimate Spidey webbing Kingpin's feet to the floor after Wilson's Bond villain monologue will never leave me.

I adore old Kirby and Lee FF, because every other like out of Ben is gold

Johnny Storm. Remember when he glued little straws to Ben's face as he slept so Ben suddenly thought he was growing a beard?😂

Spider-Man will always be my childhood favorite even though the editors are his biggest villain, but my true favorite is daredevil because he’s never had a bad comic in my opinion maybe some stuff in the 90s and silver that’s a little bad but that’s about it

Deadpool has the advantage of being a comedy focused character so his stories get to be written with an inherently comedic lense with rare exceptions

Star-Lord by Ewing, Zdarsky or Abnett/Lanning. Wonderful dry wit and faux bravado coupled with a good level of actual self-awareness and humility make for a perfect sense of humor imo. Also, a little different, but him and Kitty Pryde are actually pretty fun in the Humphries solos for Peter. Bendis made them so boring in his GotG, but Sam is REALLY good at writing sweet chemistry with them, and some surprisingly good jokes

Once they actually let The Thing do something other than mope, he just became the funniest fucking character, his solution to everything is raw brute force yet it somehow tends to work

Honestly I'm strongly of the opinion that deadpool is at his best when the comedy isn't at the forefront of his writing, and is more just a reflection of how he talks, more than anything. His writing feels at its best when it gets serious, because you're primed for comedy by default, so they can hit you like a truck
