This month marks the anniversary of the birth of my YouTube channel. Seventeen years ago, I sat in front of a simple camera, singing covers and sharing them with whoever might listen. I had no idea that all these years later, I’d still be here, same channel, but a new me... add music videos, albums, singles, tours across the diaspora, and a beautiful community that has witnessed the ebbs and flows of my growth to the summary, and I'd say this equation is finally due for some solving. Here's what that time has taught me...
There were seasons I questioned my place in this industry… seasons I wondered if my voice is making any difference at all. But it has and I have a testimony to prove it. Here I am, still singing, but not just to 10 subscribers and fluctuating views, but thousands of supporters across multiple countries and some I can call on and message for more than just a 'like'. What a blessing?!! Halleluyah To YHWH for the journey He set me on to shape me into who I am today.
I want to speak to someone who needs this reminder: Keep moving upward in your divine calling. Whatever it is, there is an audience waiting for you. Don’t shrink back or delay. Time is precious, and one day everything will make perfect sense when the answers to your prayers begin to unfold right before your eyes. Help others and surround yourself with people who bring healing to the parts of you that are unheard. Keep a grateful heart when the Most High purges you from the former things. It'll be painful, but you're stronger than you think. Release the shame that tries to hold you back from forgiveness and look for the lessons hidden inside every challenge. Keep track of your progress, celebrate your wins, and remember, you’re getting closer to discovering the true weight and beauty of your own voice.
As you wait, prepare. As you rise, keep YHWH first above everything else. People will come and go, but you are NEVER alone. The seeds you’ve been planting... quietly, faithfully... will take care of you in due time. Fight the good fight and release the strife that comes from being inconvenienced. Leave the haters behind (because there will ALWAYS be haters). Pray continually, stand on business, and tell the truth even when you're scorned for doing so.
YHWH sees you, beloved... Your efforts are not unnoticed. Your blessed reward is waiting for you, you just have to reach inward to find it. And trust me.... you ain’t seen nothing yet! 😊 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO THE JOURNEY!!!
