My take: You "threaten" eternal torture in an attempt to convince non believers to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Yet, these same people (Christians who use this strategy) do not understand why certain atheists think Christians are crazy. If I held a gun to you, and said: Give me Some Money, or else! What would you think of me? As opposed to: Please give me some money if you can, because I am in desperate need. Which is better? My Bottom Line: You should accept Jesus as Lord and Savior because he loves you, and wants what is best for you! Not because you just want "Fire Insurance". The Bible even says that God corrects those he loves! IT never says that those who follow Jesus are immune to punishment... Let that sink in.
