So, the channel doesn't cover post-1950 naval history, for reasons I've outlined repeatedly over the years. However, as a piece of theory-crafting, would you want a one-off on if the battleship, or something you might style a 'battleship', has a role in the navies of the future?

@Drachinifel

Ok, so I somehow made a poll that decided on its own to be a right/wrong option? Thats weird...

I love how this isn't actually set up as a poll, but a quiz question with a right/wrong answer. I chose no, because I'm a contrarian git, and that is apparently the wrong answer. Even if it was an error it's hilarious.

@bkirke

I very much respect your commitment to the historical boundaries of your channel/interest. I would love such a video as an exception, but not as a regular thing.

@kommandantgalileo

I love the fact this isn't a poll.

I REALLY want a video on Operation Chromite, the U.N landing at Inchon in 1950. Yes it's after WW2 but it heavily features WW2 vessels still in service at the time.

I think one of the most intresting questions is what a 50s/60s battleship would even look like, since it would no doubt be nuclear powered, the lack of exhaust stacks would allow you to do some pretty insane things with the super structure and gun layout

@shamgarsan

The occasional “What old ideas might return in navies of the near future?” is a valid extension of your self-determined timeframe limitation.

Since one of the big reasons you avoid post-1950 ships is lack of certainty about systems and capabilities that remain classified, I don't see how theorycrafting a hypothetical future ship would run into that issue. Hence, a yes vote.

@nickbrough8335

I’ll never have a problem with anything post-1950

I think it would be cool to cover sailing ships that are still in uses today. Like some of the training ships or museum ships that actually travel around

@analander9222

star destroyers can probably classify as battleships so would like to see an analysis on that

Damn the politics, full speed ahead!

@Emigdiosback

I’d be happy with Cold War era naval content

@Lubyak

I think it’d be really cool to approach this both from the “modernising a battleship” and a “what would a USN designed, PLAN designed, Royal Navy designed, etc. modern battleship” look like perspective. I think it’d be a fun bit of “what-if”!

I respect the boundaries. That being said I think the Korean War is criminally neglected and you should help fix that.

Space Battleship Yamato, you say?

Falkland Islands merits a thorough look.

I have always been fascinated by the idea of a modern battleship. Possibly a platform for exta large cannons with modern in flight guidance shells. Serving as an over the horizon attack platform and providing support fire for costal operations without needing drones or missiles.

@TheMotorGuyDirect

Maybe start a second channel for modern stuff? Also I feel like you could probably venture into the 60’s and 70’s now without upsetting too many people.

Would love to see a one off like this, so I can then go and build the concept in Rule the Waves 3 and use a bunch of them to bully the other navies.
