It’s like we’re forced to pretend what’s happening now is good because nobody knows what they’re doing. People are scared to learn from the past. We all have internet and Spotify and YouTube yet nobody even listens to CAB or MVP or any classical music. Should be studying Sabicas and Segovia. But here we are. Desperate for cash and conforming.

When I first started playing guitar I learned from hot licks bootlegs. Learned from the best. Now all these modern guitarists are so focused on making money they sell out entirely and do what they’re told. Nothing is original anymore because they’re so focused on following trends and paths. Why would anyone want to learn from these modern guitarists when I can learn from Greg Howe and Guthrie Govan and Frank Gambale and John McLaughlin and Joe Pass?
