PLEASE READ THROUGH THE ENTIRETY OF THIS POST! So, I’d assume most of you know about my Saying a Lot of Things as Sprout video. Well, most of the Voice Acting crew from that video would be returning for the sequel. Now, I say most because not ALL of the original cast will be showing up. Some Voice Actors wanted to politely step down from one of their roles, or all of their roles, and others just didn’t have their characters included in any comments.
But one of the Voice Actors, which won’t be saying their name for their sake, I had to fire. The friendship I had with this person wasn’t very healthy, but I’d always put up with it because I like to be nice to almost everyone. This person didn’t have a good reputation among most of the other actors in my crew, and it was crystal clear to me. Even if most of the crew didn’t like their presence for their actions, I still kept them in the crew and as a friend because I had hope they could do better. But I was too blind to see that no matter what punishment this person got, they always switched back to how they’d always be.
I finally was done being too nice, and I stood up for myself. I fired them, and politely told them that I didn’t want to be involved in their live anymore, and I didn’t want them involved in mine. I blocked and unfriended them on all my platforms as well. It was a simple, respectful monologue, and it should have ended there. It didn’t for a few hours. They’d get some of the people from my crew to try and talk to me for him, anything to try and get through to me. The situation broke them, and I could very clearly see it. But no matter how sad they were, and how sorry I felt for them, I wasn’t going to undo what I just, just to give them another chance that would most likely be abused.
Thankfully, I quickly got a replacement for the role they were fired from. I’m excited to have them on the team.
However I still have that guilt in me, because I knew just how badly this affected them.
If that person I fired is reading this, all I say is please try and move on. Move on not for my sake, but your own sake. Please don’t try and get into contact with me either, it’s better that we keep our separate ways. Although I want to avoid being in it, I wish you well in your personal life.
