@IbelongtoJesus.

I can't even find a room to rent on my fixed income. A senior citizen without a home. I see illegals with free rent. I'm so exhausted.

BAN ALL HEDGE FUNDS FROM OWNING SINGLE FAMILY HOMES

@here_for_the

Tell Blackrock, Vanguard, & the rest of the Hedge funds to stop buying up single dwelling homes across the USA & renting them out.

Get private equity the hell out of residential property- where is the legislation?

Got my home at 24 as a Gen x'er close to 25 years ago. It wasn't easy, but I was able to. If I didn't have that property today, I couldn't even afford a two bedroom apartment at today's rates.

@Teal_Seal

It’s also due to CORPORATIONS buying up properties for over market value and renting them out.

Deport 20 million, and end H1B visa, (150,000 good jobs this year outsourced to India alone) also potential home buyers. End private equity buying entire neighborhoods for a society of renters. This is what we voted for. Anything less is part of the problem!

Institutional buyers and foreign buyers definitely make it difficult for an “average” American to buy a home for sure.

I’m Gen X. My boomer parents rented until the day they died. They didn’t know how to balance a checkbook or accrue credit, therefore I didn’t learn these things. Public schools taught me some things but not enough. I was 40 before I bought my home. I wish I knew decades ago what I learned in my late 30s. My husband and I are teaching our teenager how to accrue credit, balance her checking account, and what it takes to buy and manage a home so that she doesn’t have to struggle like her father and I did.

Until someone calls out blackrock, vanguard and the hedge funds monopolizing rent of single family homes it will only get worse.

I’m an older American. I certainly feel NO shame over this. I’ve been struggling all my life to survive!

Lifelong commitment I passed to my kids .... be debt free, buy nothing on credit, work hard.

I'm confused. How is that the fault of older Americans who are STILL paying off a mortgage??

@pmr4547

I have done nothing but struggle. I have nothing to regret or be ashamed of as a homeowner. I’ve done without a lot of things.

Yeah, more subsidies for the Bankers, let's help them insure 50 years and 1000 years mortgages, so they can collect interests risk free while taxpayers will be subsidizing it.

I'm 59 and can't afford a home. Remodeled chicken coops are 250 thousand where I live. I don't know how people can afford it. My son and I live in a mobile home and it costs us 1300 a month. Crazy
