Tsushima had a more interesting premise, but aside from that Yotei improved on everything else

I wish we got the combat from yotei and the story from Tsushima

I think combat, exploration goes to yotei hands down not even close (especially exploration) now story it depends on the person. I think that the story might be weaker but that also enhances the exploration because of it was a story with high stakes then you wouldn’t want to explore, but since it’s a revenge story (and it is a good revenge story) it can go on the back burner while you explore yotei.

I think the story is better in GOT, but Yotei is better for everything else. Gameplay matters to me more than the story, so for me, it's Yotei. I really, really like both a lot, though.

I will admit, just for the pure nostalgia and because it's my favorite game of all time. Nothing will beat Ghost of tsushima

i absolutely loved ghost of yotei but ghost of tsushima is literally my favorite single player game of all time so its would’ve been difficult for them to make something better 😂

I pretty much agree entirely. Yotei is close to perfecting the gameplay in this series but the story is definitely weaker than GOT. The emotions in tsushima hit hard and i have yet to really feel that in this one, BUT im also not finished. Just the start of tsushima when jin was struggling with assassinations had a strong internal conflict to go along with the invasion, where as Atsu's conflict is just unbrideled anger and a thirst for vengence with some twists thrown in the journey and some character growth (as far as i am). Great game, I hope a third installment happens with a new ghost, with the writing quality Tsushima had with the innovation of Yotei

It’s tough. On the one hand Tsushima’s story and protagonist are SO UNBEATABLY WELL WRITTEN that it’d hurt so much to not give it the win. But from the weapons to the bounties to the gambling to the map and way you feel the effect each Yotei six has on their land makes Yotei all but perfect. To me Tsushima is 10/10, Yotei is 90/100 if that makes sense.

My main thing is… the cosmetics were way better in Tsushima. I’m yet to really find an armour set and sword kit combo that I’m really vibing with, whereas tsushima had dozens. Maybe they’re holding them back as multiplayer unlocks, or NG+? idk, seems sparse.

Tsushima’s story has tons of layers that aren’t really shown in Yotei. But everything else in both games is really close to one another but in different ways. Would still rate Tsushima higher though. Both great games

If Yotei had more of an intriguing story I'd have voted for it. They both are well made games and beautiful, but story goes to G.O.T

Ghost of woketei will never be better than the first game narratively. Maybe gameplay wise idk cuz I’m not gonna play it

Combat was good, but the story was even worse than mid. I wish we had just gotten a sequel to Tsushima

Yotei better for gameplay and other QoL changes. Tsushima is better when it comes to story.

Ghost of Tsushima has a stronger story in my opinion. Yotei was fine. It was predictable but fairly enjoyable. I feel the Gameplay and side characters were actually superior to Tsushima. Mad Goro had me in stitches. I also loved the weapons over the Stances. It feels good to play.

Alright, let's do this.. which one is BETTER?!
After over 400 hours in GoT and 100+ hours in GoY, here's my take... 👇
It's hard to argue that Ghost of Yotei isn't a step up technically - aside from Horizon Forbidden West, it's probably the most beautiful open world that's ever been created. It's easy to get lost in the world and spend hours and hours just wandering around and finding new things to do.
The combat is 🔥 Maybe it didn't have quite as much depth as GoT, but there was a couple of new things (the ability to throw weapons & new weapon types) that I really liked. I wasn't a big fan of having to switch weapons, but you don't really have to do that as much in the late game.
But the overall story 😬 definitely not as strong as GoT.
Don't get me wrong - I love a good revenge story... I also thought there was a decent amount of character development and a couple of the twists along the way genuinely surprised me and had me invested. Jin's story in GoT though was just on another level and there were some really interesting side quests/characters, which GoY didn't really have.
All in all, amazing game. Maybe not as strong as GoT, but that's an extremely high bar. Can't wait for them to add NG+ and maybe a DLC or two 😁🤞
