You can have compassion and empathy for someone and yourself without letting them walk all over you! A lesson I learned the hard way from my experiences with others and with myself. Sometimes the most compassionate act is brutal honesty even with ones self. Brutal honesty but with empathy. I learned that while still peeling away layers of myself while doing shadow work because I have to be brutally honest with my shadow side and my ego and my wounded inner child while still showing those sides compassion and empathy
