For those that have purchased a drone, what are some of your biggest regrets and why? Did you buy a too advanced drone? Too big or too small? Did it have all the specs you were looking for or is it lacking in some areas? Let me know in comments below.

@LAGETER

I brought the dji min 4k on my birthday and did not regret it, because I really do like dji products very reliable.The only thing is that I would like to try out the neo two because it was a tough choice between the mini 5k and the neo for my first ever drone.Since I am now a first ever drone pilot myself

I first started out with the Mini 3 Pro. And when I say that this drone was the perfect entry level drone, I mean it. Yes there’s cheaper options like the SE or Mini 3, but having pre existing photography experience made me decide on something more advanced. After about a year, I upgraded to the Air 3. And I loved the omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, the better flight stability, and most of all, the dual cameras. But this all came at a cost. Where I live, you can’t fly any drone over 250g without a licence, registration (these are obviously required), but most annoyingly, a minimum of $5,000,000 in liability insurance. This is what stopped me any time I wanted to fly anywhere within walking distance. So if there’s one regret I had with this drone, it would be not checking (and I mean thoroughly checking) your local laws, as different municipalities may have different tedious regulations that may not be easy to find.

I currently have 3 DJI drones and the original Hover Air X1. It isn’t a matter of software or hardware, that’s all good. The challenge is finding a time and a place to use them. I take a lot of small trips to some scenic places but always feel very apprehensive about using a drone. Probably use my DJI Neo more when I’m running and hiking than anything else.

Initially, I bought the Autel EVO two because it didn’t have the geo-fencing after having in a while I found it too big and cumbersome and hard to operate with the telephone being connected to a remote control controller so I moved to the air 2S which I really enjoyed and found it to be a little smaller in size a little easier to operate but finally, I discovered the mini series I’m not a professional drone pilot so I found that the mini works very well for me. I bought the mini four I had that for a year and now I just acquired the mini five and I’m gonna stick with the mini five for a couple of years and the mini series in general I don’t see a reason I need to go to a bigger drone as I’m not a professional and it suits my needs.

That our government will retroactively turn our DJI drones into paperweights.

For me, my regret was back in 2020 in buying the Mavic Mini during the Oct Prime Day sale when the Mini 2 came out Nov that year. Doesn't get me wrong the Mavic Mini was fun to fly around and is what got me into flying drones. Back then i just wished i waited for the Mini 2 so i can have Ocusync 2 instead of Enhanced wifi for better range. Now i fly the Mavic 3 and dont regret buying that other than i just been so busy that I've haven't been able to fly lately lol

I love having a drone, but I have the mini2 and I wish I had obstacle avoidance and subject tracking. I also wish I didn't have to use my phone. All will be solved when I finally bite the bullet and upgrade.

Mavic Air 2. Waiting for something better than the Skydio 2 for tracking. DJI teased a beacon. The wait continues. Influencers act if DJI tracking gets better. Better compared to what? A previous version of DJI product. Skydio set the standard years ago. Nothing comes close.

Lack of interesting things to film… Unless you’re a frequent traveller you run out of places FAST. Not to mention the coolest places to shoot are no-fly zones 🙄

Biggest regret is not getting a chance to buy any of your flyt cases before they sold out on your website 🥲 Truly hoping they come back soon. I have one for the AIR2s but I need one for the RC controller and one for the Mini 3 pr

If dji support can't help me correct my vision calibration err on my Mavic4 Pro, would you accept pay to calibrate for me so I can get back to flying? I'm using macOS 13.7.8 and NONE of the Assistants will let me calibrate the vision sensors. Im in UT. can we have a PM exchange?
