ARTefacts

Hello everyone! Wow, what a first month for the channel.

I'm excited to see so many of you reliving a part of your childhood through the videos. Our next interview drops on Friday - and its a big one - featuring an artist from a series of books I absolutely loved as a kid.

As we continue to grow our community, I wanted to put some power in your hands. So, who should we interview??? Is there an artist you adore or think needs more recognition? Let me know in the comments!

@ART-efacts

All great suggestions so far! I’ve already started reaching out to some names here. Fingers crossed they show up in future videos! - Marcus

@GremlinBones

Might sound weird but I always love the art for Jan Brett's children's books and Tomie DePaola. Eric Carle was a legend too but a bit hard to interview him now.

Would it be possible to get extended unedited (or just less edited) videos of your interviews? I find the nitty-gritty details to be extremely fascinating! Suggestions for topics: Madballs sculptor Other 3D toy sculptors

Loved your Goosebumps interview and subbed because of it. I don’t know how hard of a get all of these artists are, but here are some of my picks: James Jean, Esao Andrews, Andy Kehoe, Storm Thorgerson, Tomer Hanuka, Asaf Hanuka… they might be tough to get, though.

@ellebastonart

I'm probably insanely biased because this series is so niche, but the Jet Pack Pets comics that ran in Disney Adventures magazine were my entire personality as a kid, and they're criminally underrated imo and need more love!

Love your videos! I second the idea of releasing full (or full-ish) interviews. And I’d LOVE to see a Dav Pilkey episode!

All the videos have been awesome! Anything will be cool. I would love some on 80s/90s fantasy artists, other horror artists from the 20th century horror novel covers, and/or painters who did the realistic style covers for kids’ chapter books like the Babysitters’ Club, Sweet Valley, Animorphs, etc.

Michael Salmon, iconic Australian picture book artist! And Gary Clark, creator of Australian comic SWAMP! Would be amazing if you did an episode on Murray Ball, creator of Footrot flats and perhaps spoke with his son who currently runs the Facebook page!

@BitestheStuff

Could be interesting to do something based on the art of pogs.

Was going to say Graeme Base, but someone already beat me to it.

Diane deGroat! She’s prolific, but I especially loved her Anastasia Krupnik series for Lois Lowry. (As an aside, if you haven’t seen the book, ‘The Art of Ramona Quimby’ it covers all five different illustrators of the series. Highly recommend.) Also, don’t know if you’ll do any videos covering artists who have passed on, but James Mathewuse would be a fantastic subject to consider.)
