i did a whole project in my linguistic anthropology class about how language can contribute to echo chambers online, its super interesting! even the emojis you use can alienate you from different groups of people (for example, since i use “😭” for laughing, i may not communicate well in online spaces with people who don’t associate that meaning with it) plus social media makes it super easy to block people who don’t agree. and there’s a whole culture around groups on facebook where they police the language you use and only select people with shared interests to get in so everyone in those groups are just seeing the exact same thing all day. AND on top of that! psychologically, when a group of people all share an opinion over time they all gradually start agreeing with the most extreme version of that opinion. its like everyone wants to prove they’re The Best whatever they are so they take the most extreme stance. anyway, lots and lots of potential for a video! i hope to hear you take on it one day

I loooove the echo chambers idea!! It’s something that I give a lot of thought in my day to day life and studies as well. I don’t hear too much about it and it does seem like a topic you could cover well!
