-Beyond the act of creation, what truly defines a poet? Are poets shaped by their individual experiences and inner states, or do they share an underlying essence that transcends individuality? -What do you think is the true source of the creative impulse, and to whom, or to what, is that impulse ultimately directed? -Do you see any parallels between poetry and mysticism? Both seem to express revelation and concealment at once, a kind of presence that is also absence. -In your view, can truth and beauty, mythos and logos, knowledge and revelation, light and shadow, ever be reconciled? Sorry for the long list of questions haha, I couldn’t help myself!

I’ve been wanting to read Shakespeare recently and would love a guide to reading and interpreting his works more clearly. I would also love to hear your thoughts on some of the more popular essayists such as Emerson, Thoreau, Bacon, and Montaigne. I love your channel and really appreciate your passion for literature.

I’d love to see you cover literary theory and criticism. I’ve been looking for sources of modern writing on these topics, but most of the articles I’ve found are behind a paywall or require a university connection to read them for free. I’d also love to hear your suggests on where to look for (ideally free) contemporary criticism of famous novels

I’m reading my first play Pygmalion by George Barnard Shaw and I did ask myself “why make plays instead of just novels” maybe an interesting topic would be the importance of plays and novels, how they relate but also how they contrast, and the impact that they have? Just throwing ideas I know it’s a bit simple.

The San Francisco poets, Citylights, the beats and that counterculture…I just realized that although they were breaking traditional rules, they were very well read

Talk about Fernando Pessoa! One of the more overlooked of the giants of modernism who - rather than synthesising European literature into one united-fragmented voice - instead harnessed a variety of modes through a variety of voices and therefore embodied a variety of inner selfs. Could do a video on a couple of his different ‘heteronyms’ and what they each present.

I'd love close reading of some appreciated short stories, like Hemingway's "A Clean, Well Light Place" or Joyce's "The Deads". Another suggestion is to adress what differentiates literature from entertainment.

I would like to hear your extensive thoughts on Edgar Allan Poe's poetry. However, not just "The Raven," but his other poems (especially lesser known ones like "The Sleeper" and "Alone").

I would like you to speak on second and third readings of literature. Should one read through and experience the piece uninterrupted the first time, only to go through and take notes/marginalia the second and third time? When should you counsider a second or even third read of a work?

I would like to have a video on formalism. How do we study poetry from a formalist approach and why it's important.

Poetry and power. How does poetry fare when written under a repressive regime? Can the poet retain creative liberty when under pressure from those in power? Can the poet, through his poetry, perhaps even acquire some form of control over his repressive environment?
