The Guardians had vanished into the mist, leaving Turkey alone beneath the silver-leafed trees of the Realm of the First Howl.
Except he wasn’t alone.
The path before him pulsed with golden threads — roots of energy, woven into the soil. With every pawstep, Turkey felt memories stirring beneath the surface. The collar glowed dimly, reacting to something hidden deeper in the earth.
> “The Howl isn’t taught,” he murmured. “It’s remembered.”
The squirrel perched on a branch overhead, eyes wide. “You sure about that? ‘Cause I’m getting ‘haunted cave choir’ vibes.”
Turkey continued forward, and that’s when he heard it: A sound not meant for ears — not a bark, not a growl…
A chorus.
Low, ancient, cracked like broken stone — echoing from beneath the roots.
The Hollow Chorus.
The collar sparked. The world glitched.
For a moment, the sky fractured into darkness, and floating in the void: A ripple. A circle. A clock stuck at 3:17.
“The throne fell at 3:17,” a voice whispered — not his, not the squirrel’s, but something older.
Beneath the forest, Turkey’s paws touched a root — and a vision flooded in:
The collar once belonged to a Guardian named Velnar — betrayed and silenced.
Umbros once howled beside him, until something inside him fractured.
The Hollow Chorus was their punishment — trapped souls echoing forever, forgotten by those above.
Turkey staggered back. The glow from the root burned gold and green.
“Turkey?” the squirrel called down. “You okay?”
Turkey looked up slowly. “No. But I remember now.”
Turkey turned, and howled — not a cry of fear, but a song of memory.
The trees shivered.
The collar pulsed.
The seeds beneath the earth — those of truth, of spark, of rebellion — stirred.
