If we carry an exaggerated view of ourselves—believing we are something we are not—we miss what God is truly trying to teach us. God calls us to humble ourselves and recognize that even our best efforts fall short without Him. Some people say, “Lord, bless me,” and others say, “Lord, give me,” but those who are growing in maturity learn to say, “Lord, make me.”

If You need to correct my attitude today so I can walk in Your blessings tomorrow—make me. If someone needs to leave my life for Your purpose to unfold—make me. If a door needs to close now so a better one can open later—make me. Even when the process is uncomfortable, I trust that You are shaping me for something greater.

I stand with confidence and declare: I love the God who not only gives blessings, but also transforms me into who I am meant to be.
