Caril Ann Fugate and Charles Starkweather colorized. Charles and Caril killed 11 people in Nebraska and Wyoming from 1957-1958. In 1959 Charles Starkweather was sentenced to death and executed, while Caril Fugate was convicted of first degree murder at 14 years old, making her the youngest woman in history to be convicted of first degree murder. She served 18 years in prison until she was released on parole and is still alive to this day. In 2020 she tried to get pardoned. Her role in the murders are still debated to this day. They were the original inspiration for Natural Born Killers.
