Okay, silly song lyric aside, you've already known about my stagnant uploads and heard it enough at this point. The jump from high school to college is definitely a giant one at that and the workload makes it difficult to find time for videos. When I'm not working on college work, I get that burnout feeling and usually played a bunch of video games in my off time. The good news is that I am nearly out of my Nintendo obsession, so I will feel more compelled to think of video ideas.
Then there's the whole "figuring out my life" thing I'm going through. In this stretch of 3 months, I've been hammered with personal issue after personal issue. I began to notice many of my shortcomings as a human being, and it was painful that I got to a point of hopelessness and apathy as a result. My faults combined with the daily US news which I won't go into for reasons got me to start taking care of my mental health through therapy and my life goals. As of this day, I am not fully out of this figuring out cycle and I never will be out of it. But I'm hoping that I adapt to this new way of life and balance it with what I do here.
So, the lack of content on here has definitely impacted my analytics. Never have I had days where I lost subscribers on consecutive days. And to those people, I do not blame you at all. I genuinely don't think I'm pushing myself enough to make the content that you all know and love and it is because of what I just talked about. I know that people will say that my mental health is a first priority and I am definitely being too hard on myself like other YouTubers who have emergencies. But it doesn't stop me from feeling let down about the lack of activity here.
With that said, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Unlike high school, my winter break is not 2 weeks long. In fact, it's triple the length. 6 weeks of no school is a dream come true for me and this channel. After the week of December 8th to the 12th, I don't have school until the 21st of January which is awesome. That means I will have more time to make videos.
All that buildup has led to this revelation: I have never in the history of my channel have made a proper Christmas special. It seems kinda backwards because while Christmas is on that day, the 25th, so is my birthday! I'll turn 19 this year. (WTF time flies). It's a double holiday that is extra special and I feel it warrants a video. So, for this year, I would love to do some kind of Christmas special. And even better, release the video on that day so that your holiday season includes a brand new CoolGorilla video! Sadly, I won't be at my home on Christmas, but I will likely make the video before I head out for traveling and set it to premiere on Christmas.
I want to thank everyone who has stuck around during my inactivity. I really appreciate it. And for the people who decided not to stick around, thank you for your support as well. I will hopefully have a return to form and make videos during my break starting next month that last through January 21st. I look forward to seeing you all when that happens! (I am currently making a Laziness video and might release it tonight if I have time. If not, tomorrow).
