I got out of researching my ancestors for years. My Niece started asking questions, and I didn't know. She has been doing it for several months, and she has gone back 12-15 generations already. I started in the library back in the 80's. Thank goodness we have a free site to do our research on now

I had already started before the show, but watching is so much fun and keeps the spark alive.

I have been doing Genealogy for nearly 50 years. As a child I was always fascinated by the stories told by my older family members. I have gone back to the 1300's in my family. I also have helped many others on their family research.

I think Who Do You Think You Are appeals to people who are already interested in genealogy and are already researching.

Always amazed that some people on the programme don't even know anything about their great grandparents.

My uncle already did that. He searched for the men right back to 14 generations before us. Of course we have not a single piece of information about the women π π

Have discovered My Dad's side of the Family so far since a week ago. but have to wait to visit the family archives of My Mother's family as waiting for Day surgery. Also I am unable to pay to see anything on ancestry as do not own a Credit/debit/visa card and do not have a bank account. Due to being Autistic. But look forward to My Soon to be Discovery's I hope.

Actually, a friend did that for me. We went to High School together near Chicago. Turns out our ancestors criss crossed since the Pilgrims. We both had XGrandmother hanged as witches...Mary Barnes 1662 Ct and hers was in Salem.

I've been researching for over 40 years. I've been kicking myself for not paying attention to both sets of grandparents when they told stories of their families.
