The trauma and pain this poor family was put thru by the medical industry is so sad. I hope Tres and his mom had some peace in his last moments.

RIP Tres Our society has become so obsessed with fame & beauty that it is toxically vain & shallow. Some people have mental breakdowns over a pimple or bad hair day. To a degree all of us are drawn to & acknowledge looks & beauty, but many care more about more important things like character & values. Beauty is fleeting whereas character lasts a lifetime. Also we have a culture that worships celebrity & impossible beauty standards which deifies said celebrities as heroes. To me it’s regular people doing amazing things not for fame or wealth but to make the world a better place who are truly inspiring. To me a hero is someone like Trés & the Special Books by Special Kids family. Tres had some challenges & disabilities which gave him an excuse to be frustrated or not exactly happy, let’s say. However when I see people like him exuding enthusiasm for life & happiness it is incredibly inspiring & humbling. So many of us feel sorry for ourselves or depressed over minor or petty things driven by our shallow vanity. I get awed by the positivity & fortitude of heroes like him who keep smiling despite hurdles & challenges. Some people are so shallow & vain they cannot face the world & get depressed over a temporary blemish. Stories like this are a reminder of how much better we can be as people & as a society. I wish that I expressed these points more eloquently & I hope none of what I said was perceived as insensitive or offensive. Some things are hard to express without using descriptive language about reality but it is best to describes things as best as we can if we are making important points even if it’s uncomfortable, if you will. Anyway be kind & be safe everyone. I see so much toxicity & awfulness in the news & on social media. Sometimes we see heart warming & inspiring stories thankfully. Everyone wants to publish & see sensational stories but boring inspirational stories are fine by me.

I was just thinking about Tres the other day. I like to see updates on them, like how they're doing. I remember the mom having to move to the care Tres needed. We need Tres and good people like him.

Special Books by Special Kids
Our friend Trés passed away this week. I had the privilege of interviewing him twice over the years and each time we met Trés greeted me with a smile, warm energy, and reached out to hold my hand. He was a bright light in this world who loved spreading joy. I will always remember the laughs we shared while throwing his toys. My deepest condolences to his family and everyone who loved Trés.
