Beside makowiec we also have something called keks, which is pretty similar to this german Stollen, except it has baking powder in it instead of yeasts and usually is made in rectangular cake tin.

I want to try these but I have a tree nut allergy. I’m 50 and have never tried because of nuts and almond flour. I saw chocolate chip Panetone in an ad so I’ll get reading ingredients. Next problem, I don’t know the time of day or practice for eating these sweet breads. Dessert? Breakfast with coffee? Tea break probably.
