How does one deal with suicidal ideation within a system even though you yourself are not suicidal? Knowing that if they front, they are guaranteed to hurt the body but controlling switches and who doesn't switch becomes exhausting :(

This is for anyone, but hosts probably have more to share on this: What are some signs/signals in behavior that flag to you when someone else is close/near the front that are physical? Or, on a similar note, can you tell who was just out before you by context clues of your environment alone? Another one (for anyone): Do your cats notice the difference between alters? Do they notice only with specific alters? Final question (sort of odd, and somewhat personal, but I am a fellow system and like understanding other's experiences with this): Are there system guidelines when it comes to social media? When it comes to social media accounts, are there separate accounts for separate alters in some spaces, or does everyone use singular system accounts? Are there system rules around social media, and if so, do hosts or protectors have any advice on finding ways alters can engage with social media safely (especially for Littles and sensitive alters)?

What does switching feel like to you? Do you experience Possessive Switches (Switching where the consciousness stays with both alters. It feels like the alter who was fronting is falling or being pulled out of the front and another alter is moving into where they were to control the body.), Non-Possessive Switches (Switching where the consciousness only stays in the fronting space with the fronting alter. Rather than feeling someone possess and take over their body, it feels more like they become an entirely different alter. When switching happens, the consciousness changes from one alter to another which feels like the consciousness being one alter and then becoming a different alter.), or both? We have been watching you since 2019 and finally got our DID diagnosis this year!

For Daniel and any other alters that may relate to the feeling : as alters that tend to be more protective/reactive (I don't like using the word "protector" for myself, feels like pigeonholing, but idk how else to say it): How do you learn to step back from that instinct of acting as if the system is - or at some point will be - in danger/learn to trust that the system will be safe in uncomfortable situations? I find that often I will react to an uncomfortable situation more dramatically than necessary. I'm trying to learn to step back and trust that other alters can handle it, or that I can relax a little even if I do react, and I'm wondering what your experiences of this sort of thing were like.
