Poll related to the Mojang class action lawsuit.
During the Mojang to Microsoft account migration, did you at any point in time receive an email with the title "Important changes to your Mojang account" from the email address "noreply (at) mojang (dot) com"?

I lost my account due to losing access to my 2011 email and they straight up just told me to buy another one. No matter how much proof I had they would not do anything

My account migrated on February 8th 2022. The last email before that confirmation was a password reset in 2020. I first learned of account migration when the new Minecraft launcher started randomly complaining about it. There was no mention of policy change afaik, only of “y u use Mojang and not Microsoft, we gonna ban u unless you change”. I bought Minecraft in like 2013. I don’t really touch it these days.

That 20/80 split is crazy... I am start to hear that paper rustling in Mojang HQ from kilometres away...

No. I was only informed during sign in.

All I have is the email verification, purchase receipt, some password changes, and the migration email itself. I am in Europe if that's relevant at all.

@navitheconfessor

I had lost access to that email by that time (Cox email was no longer supported). Didn't matter for a while since I knew my password to get in and play. I reached out to Mojang and Microsoft support during the transition period and neither were helpful, ultimately forcing me out of my account when the transition period ended.

@FairFeline

If I did, I somehow magically missed it despite the fact my inbox is perfectly organized at all times.

@Xenephos

I actually learned about it from the Technic launcher, a *third party application*.

@MatterTheCause

I received like... 30 of them because I dragged my feet during migration lol.

I still don't understand how this "account migration" thing was legal. It's literally forced monopolisation.

Would be best to add poll option for those who bought Minecraft after the migration Would be best to add poll option for those who bought Minecraft after the migration Edit: looking back this doesn’t make much sense how I worded it, I meant for it to be added as an extra datapoint that might be useful in the case to see (roughly) out of the total playerbase who was actually affected by the change

New update when???????

@Jessafur

There should be an "I don't remember answer", otherwise people are more likely to accidentally create a false memory in either direction

@LKNL13

Honestly I had so so many. I don’t understand how people weren’t getting them. I just checked my inbox and I still have a lot of them marked unread

Google didn't show the email when I searched for "mojang" for some reason but it did when I looked for "minecraft". Received it 11. Feb 2022, migrated 31. March 2022.

@Pvrge.

I didn't play Minecraft for like two or three years, so I didn't read their mail, I didn't even know about any migration stuff. Then, a few months ago I wanted to play it again, and I discovered that they basically deleted my account, since I'm unable to login with my Mojang account, and I'm literally unable to migrate. If you email them, they'll just tell you to buy it again. No migration, no refund, not even a discount. So, it goes like this: Oops we deleted your account since you didn't migrate. If you wanna play, buy the same product for the second time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There's no way this is legal.

@AtlasDeValle

Did a quick search through my email and I did! On a different note, the last email I’ve gotten from Mojang was back in 2022 when I finished migrating my account. Nothing about any kind of policy changes since.

@billboein

i have never deleted emails from them have all my yearly password resets and 1 when i made the account, one when i paid for it, and 1 after i moved my account. this is the same for all 3 of my accounts on different emails.

I'm assuming this was something they were once again legally required to inform us and didn't. It's not surprising to me that Mojang would have holes in their legal agreement but after the Microsoft acquisition I thought they'd have the world's top game absolutely locked down
