Chilli all day. Easy to make, full of protein, extremely flavourful and freezes well if you’re making a big batch!

As an American, chili is my boy! As an American white guy married to a Korean gal, gamjatang ((감자탕) Korean pork neck-bone and potato soup)) is my favorite when I can get it. Chili is great but gamjatang is the best and definitely will warm you up.

I have two....chili and hot and sour soup. However, as a result of Breast Cancer treatments my wife can no longer handle ANY level of heat, so now when I make a big pot of chili is is heat free...and I add (generally finely diced jalapenos or serranos) heat to my bowl. Hot and sour soup I still make to my heat tolerances as my wife does not like it anyway.

At 85 years of age and living alone i prefer making all kinds of soups especially in fall and winter. I use Organic Chicken Bone Broth as base. Any leftover veggies or grain go into. Actually is very tasty.

Beef and vegetable stew. There's something about a big bowl of it in front of the fire pit that just feels right.
