I'm in Osaka at the moment. I just came from Tokyo. Arrived here to hear the news about the quake. I feel so sad for those who are going through the devastation. My thoughts and prayers go out to them. I hope everyone is alright and is being supported/assisted if necessary.

Stay safe! Biggest earthquake ive been in was probably a.. 5 or 6 something? It was a very long time ago but that shook big time. So a 7 almost 8 must have been terrifying especially with the threat of tsunamis. Stay safe Eats! Stay safe Japan!

So sorry to hear about this. Put on NHK this morning and saw the news. Coming back to Japan next week but not going to West Coast this time. I hope everyone is safe and there is not too much damage.

I'm happy that you are OK. My thoughts are with those in Ishikawa prefecture and the western coast of Japan.

I don't have family in Japan or am japanese myself, but I have a love for Japan. I love their culture and their food not to mention their Martial Arts. Seeing how Japan is a narrow island country, I can just see happening if the right earthquake strikes causing a huge tsunami, big enough to go from east coast to west coast, completely submerging the whole country of Japan.

There is a high probability of another major earthquake until the next month or so. Review evacuation routes, look at hazard maps, and reconfirm sturdy high ground with little flood damage. The damage is far less than the 2011 Damage Japan Earthquake (the Sea of Japan side is prone to sea roughness, so there are many breakwaters and tetrapods). However, as long as you live in Japan, earthquakes are a part of your life, so let's continue to take care of each other! Tomorrow morning's news should give us the full picture.

Japan Eat
Thank you to everyone who checked in on me. I am safe!
If you didn’t hear, at around 4:10 PM JST, there was a large earthquake that affected many communities along the Sea of Japan. In particular, Ishikawa prefecture and the surrounding area experienced multiple quakes, with one of them reaching a magnitude of 7.6. This was followed by multiple major tsunami warnings.
If any of you are or have loved ones in the affected area, I hope they are safe and well.
