God has never used someone from another time period to fulfill his work. He didn’t bring the prophets back to preach in the first century, he chose 12 men from the time period who could relate to the people. He will again use 2 people from this time period, willing to stay behind and do his work, to reach Israel. No where in the bible does it say he will bring back Moses, Enoch or Elijah for the 7 year tribulation. They did their work. We, who are raptured, will not die either. The fallacy that they need to come back and die is just that. Men who lived thousands of years ago, who cannot relate to modern day people, work a computer or cell phone, relate to modern day women, etc. are useless to reach Israel today, just as they would have been in the 1st century AD. As God used John the Baptist as the one crying in the wilderness with the spirit of Elijah, pointing them to Christ who would reconcile the hearts of the fathers to the children, he will do so again. John the Baptist fulfilled all the Elijah typology scriptures from the Old Testament. We tend to be literalists at our own expense. If he was coming back before the messiah came, it had to be John the Baptist. Nothing else fits. The Jews did not understand the prophesies or they would have recognized Jesus. They missed Jesus because they were looking for Elijah returning in person. 🙏
