Not enough water is my biggest fear but that wasn't there.

Since we live very rural, I always worry about water from our well. We have several generators, but the fuel supply can be exhausted if prolonged for months, and supply chains fail.

Honestly, it’s people outside of my home and what others might do bc of the fear they have. We may all be in the same boat in my area, but fear motivates good people to do bad things.

Being a senior. Not on meds and in good health but not having the stamina and strength to do all that will need to be done.

If your a prepper you don't have those fears. My power goes out so much that it's a treat to have power.

With an EMP or CME, I’m most concerned about the supply chain, especially my meds. For short term outages, heating or cooling are the big ones. We had an outage in the summer and I would’ve paid extra money for air conditioning. I’ve at least bought some small battery-operated fans recently.

Being the only one that has power. When the electricity went out for two days all I got were WTF looks when my garage door still worked

We live off grid and have accounted for all of these issues but many haven’t so excited to see what you present.

My biggest prolonged grid down fear is what to do with all my trash. Human waste is bad enough, but I've read the Humanure Handbook (though it's been years) and have at least a modicum of understanding on the subject. But I have prepped quite literally thousands of garbage bags, paper towels, etc. and I just realized the other day that I don't have a great way to get rid of my trash in a way that wouldn't introduce more critters, alert people to my position (e.g., burning), or cause more health issues.

Other: having more evil people survive than good.

My biggest fear would be the emp protection failing on the solar, after that it's back to using the outhouse due to no pump for the septic. Water can be hauled from the creek, put in the poly tank and gravity fed to the house, filtered for drinking, but a dad with diabetes, keeping the insulin cold or it running out

What I will miss the most will be the hot showers. I’m lucky in that I have an old wood burning cookstove. It will allow me to cook, and heat my one room cabin at the same time. But, I will miss my hot showers.

You forgot to add having warm clean clothes to change into.... Elders often have incontinence and have to change clothes frequently.

Not a fear per se, but losing refrigeration will be the biggest hurdle. We can heat meals, but our options shrink.

Definitely being cold since I live in MN and we’re going on winter! 🥶

Predators, of the Human law-less variety, taking advantage of the darkness to prey on the old, weak, etc. Being in the UK, we have no real access to "bang-sticks", etc. Self defence will be with what is at hand at the time. Phone dying, not bothered. Being cold, ways to keep warm, have alternates to heat food/water, stumbling around in the dark, always have a head torch in each room, including bedside drawers, all with "Glow in the Dark" tape on them, so easy to find.
