What an amazing weekend at the 2025 Combatives Summit!

I spent this past weekend training down in Mississippi with some of the best instructors, professionals, and fighters around. I do my best to go into every one of these sessions with an open mind. Every session was top notch and filled with information that I plan to dive into deeper on my own time.


I took pages upon pages of notes, had great conversations with individuals who have WAY more experience than I do, and enjoyed some lunch time rolling with high level black belts and fighters. Expect to see an influx of videos in the coming weeks as I put my thoughts and takeaways from this event together.


Remember, approach every training opportunity with a white belt mentality that you can learn from anyone, anywhere, anytime. Stay safe 🤙🏻

Self defense classes are not empowerment classes; they are reality checks. If you do not leave a self defense class feeling at least a little vulnerable, it was not a real class.

Self defense classes need to be progressive rather than random techniques. They need to have an end goal. There needs to be various levels of pressure so that you will fail (remember not all fights are won). There should be an emotional connection so that you get that adrenaline dump and fear kick in so that you truly know how your body will respond when you believe you are being attacked.


Do your research before you take a class.

Had the opportunity of hosting Jerry from Red Zone Threat Management over the weekend for a two day seminar; one day was knife defense while the other was adaptive striking.



I have taken multiple knife defense courses before, but Jerry approached his class differently than others I have worked with. It was great to see his viewpoint on those types of attacks as well as how to survive them. If you ever have the opportunity to learn from him, do it!

I will be releasing a video within the next few days regarding school sh**tings. The focus will be on ways I personally feel we can improve on to ensure the safety of our kids and faculty.


I want to know in your opinion, what do you think needs to be done to improve safety measures, training, etc. I want genuine answers; no political nonsense, no banning g*ns (because we know that is not happening anytime soon). Please be respectful but I would love to hear some of your thoughts.

We have been at this channel and content as a whole for just over 4 years now. What started out as something to do for fun during the tail end of Covid has turned into a cool brand where I can share my knowledge and training experience with the world.

Say what you want about social media, but it has opened up countless opportunities to teach, train, and meet some amazing people across the country.
