Getting to be about that time of year. The final marathon of videos is coming. I'll be getting everything I can up, at the time of writing this post I have two more sets uploaded and unlisted, ready to be released. I'm aiming to get one set to public every other day until New Year's Eve, and then on New Year's Day 2026 I'm riding off into the sunset and declaring this part of my life and this project officially done.
I've sacrificed enough of my mental health and enough of myself to keep this going as long as I have and I think I've earned my retirement. It's been real y'all, I'll keep posting until new year's. I'll probably use this channel for my own personal work once the new year comes around, so don't bounce or anything. And I might record the odd show here or there if one catches my eye, but it'll be few and far between, and most importantly, on my terms.
🚨🚨🚨 TURN OFF RESTRICTED MODE IF YOU WANT TO SEE MY VIDEOS
YouTube's new algorithm has labeled basically my entire channel as "mature". If you're in restricted mode you can only see about 20 of the 129 videos I have publicly available. Essentially the entire catalogue of local music that I recorded, edited, and uploaded here has been unlisted without my permission, and there is basically nothing I can do.
It's device-specific too, so you need to reset your settings for "sensitive content" on EVERY device you use YouTube on. This would be apocalyptic for my channel if I had monetization turned on, and it frankly still might be just because of how much effort went into those videos just for them to get sent to the ether with the flip of a switch.
My "masterlist" playlist that I have pinned to the top of my channel with all of my uploads in chronological order also was hit. I did not set any of my videos that were publicly available last week to private.
Thank you for your support over all of these years. I think this project's time is nearing its conclusion.
26. I basically stopped going to concerts and have been indulging other interests and frankly I've been a lot happier. Wild how I can go to a monster truck show in the middle of nowhere, Michigan and feel safer and less likely to have stupid nonsense drama started about me than allegedly "safe spaces" back "home". Haven't touched my drums in about 6 months too. I kinda feel bad that I haven't kept up with it but tbh it's whatever.
25 is the year I gave up on all of the goals I had for my early 20s. So why don't I feel sad about it anymore? Idk. Having your hopes and dreams beaten out of you repeatedly for a couple months only to finally say "fuck it" and end up finding new goals, and better friends, makes up for it I guess. Anyways I'm 26 today and unlike last year and 24, I'm not spending it trying to drink myself to death or take impromptu flying lessons. Those dorks that say "it gets better" might be on to something after all.
Still gonna be uploading concert footage from my backlog... when I feel like it.
If you're subscribed to my channel, what brought you here and why are you sticking around? I'd like to know what I should do with this moving forward. I'm also interested in feedback. Do you like the heavier edits I've been making with my other videos, injecting text, title cards, sound effects etc or should I keep doing light edits and present what I've recorded as raw as possible?
