If these pictures intrigue you, this is Grand Fleet Admiral! It's a criminally under-advertised miniatures game and I've been enjoying the heck out of it.
Here's the features: - Tabletop fleet battle game capable of supporting hundreds of ships - Over 30 factions each with unique spacecraft, abilities and lore - Ship classes ranging from super-capital down to tiny fighters - Troop boarding actions for control of ships and stations - Electronic warfare and minefields - Custom stations, tokens and terrain
Merry Christmas peeps! With the announcement of Space Engineers 2 and the fact that our game has gone through quite a few updates since I've been away, I don't think I will do much more in SE. I would rather wait and begin fresh in SE2 with all the quality of life improvements it will have, and become comfortable with that one from the ground up. I'm not sure when I'll jump into it after it comes out, as my interests are mostly in offline hobbying right now, but looking forward to the future. I never thought SE2 would actually be a thing.
Hello, thank you all for your patience. To be transparent, it was not my intention to stop the walker tutorial halfway through, but I've done two deployments since posting episode 2 and was gone most of last year. I also have small children at home using up the majority of my time outside work. I simply don't have the ~50 hours of dedicated free time necessary to make episode 3 at this moment.
Update: I'm back from deployment with not nearly as much time for making videos as I had hoped. I'll keep chipping away at episode 3, but I have no estimated time frame. Apologies
Happy to say I've started working on my second tutorial on how to make walkers. This time, instead of making a world where I let you try to figure it out, I will be putting everything into a video and "walking" through the process.
Here are the Chapters: Intro
Planning the Design
Building the Body
Building the Legs
Leg Positioning and Limits
Timer Setup
Tuning the Walk Cycle
Planet Testing and Revisions
Additional Functions (Stop, Turn, Reverse, Neutral, Crouch)
Final Cleanup and Fail-safes
Outro
This is going to take a while, and I make no estimate on when I'll be able to finish it. But it has been started and that's a step in the right direction.
New mech currently being edited! I left the recorder on from start to finish for this one and I'm interested in hearing what parts of the build process, if any, you want to see.
Side note: Planning on a general "how to" series for walkers sometime in the future.

I'll make this pretty simple. This is a mech by Dread Mechanic.
If you want to know how to set up walking in 2025 with event controllers, then go watch his tutorial https://youtu.be/0veNJmOKiVc?si=-EX7m...
If you want new mech ideas, then please head over to his channel because it's a lot more fun than mine right now.
I don't know why he doesn't have double my subscribers, but maybe you can consider being part of the change.

Friends, episode 3 is not in the cards before I need to leave for a few months. I'll push it out after. Here's the timer diagram in the meantime for you ambitious ones who want to dive in:

The walker tutorial is going to be massive, so what would you rather have?
