A band occupying sonic territory entirely their own, Bent Knee is “equal parts ingenuity and deliciousness” (The Wall Street Journal). Since its inception in 2010, the Boston rock outfit has released six studio albums, each “break[ing] new stylistic and experimental ground” (The Boston Globe), merging texture and style into music that’s riveting, addictive, and unapologetically original. Fronted by the unmistakable voice of Courtney Swain (vocals, keyboard, bass), the quartet is a juggling act between multi-instrumentalists, consisting of Chris Baum (violin, guitar, synth), Vince Welch (guitar, bass, sound design), and Gavin Wallace-Ailsworth (drums). NPR calls their music “mind-boggling. The grandest and subtlest ideas are on the table”, while Consequence of Sound describes them as “throwing off the shackles of genre . . . truly the definition of experimentalism.” The band's seventh studio album, "Twenty Pills Without Water", comes out August 30th, 2024.
