My grandfather bought his Harley Davidson new in Australia, 1917. My mother says that she was told that only 3 were sold that year in Australia. He kept it until 1961, not long before he died. The buyer said he wanted to 'do it up'. I like to imagine that it's still around, in someone's collection of old machines.
