I have been waiting to say anything, because 1) I’m still lowkey in denial and believe that as soon as I announce it, 200 people will unsubscribe 💀, and 2) I don’t know how to thank you. But I will attempt to muster up the words & try!
When I was ~12, I had a small YouTube channel (it was deleted from existence so don’t ask 🔪). It was early on in YouTube history, and I just posted random vlogs, singing videos, yapping about my hobbies. Someone close to me discovered the channel and attempted to make fun of me by showing my vids to other people, definitely trying to embarrass me. Well, it worked, because I was TWELVE, and I deleted the channel with a broken heart.
5 years ago, I created a new channel under the name MegMage, with no expectations. I thought it would simply be a place to store my Twitch VODs. Some of y’all found me through RDR2 and God of War 🥹 then we introduced Mass Effect, and even through the loud alerts, distractions, and numerous puppy breaks, you stuck with me. This inspired me to start YouTube exclusive playthroughs, like God of War (raise your hand if you were there for Aphrodite 😭), and I loved it. Being a YouTuber was a far off dream for me, even when I was a streamer on Twitch. My life has changed so much because of this platform. And lil Meg is ecstatic!!
I never thought I’d have so many people willing to watch my content and share excitement over video games. Honestly, I hadn’t realized how much shame and embarrassment I carried with me for both my love of games as a girl, and my overall personality. I was often told I was too loud, too sensitive, weird, etc. Y’all threw those insecurities out the window. You validated my inner child and connected with me internationally. Coming from an unstable home life and upbringing, this consistency and support means so much to me. Thank you for giving me purpose, and simply being my friends. I am IMMENSELY GRATEFUL!!! And will keep showing you in all the ways I can! Please never give up on your dreams, or let go of a hobby you love because someone belittled you. You brought magic into my life. I promise to reciprocate. Let’s keep it sparkly ✨🩷 THANK YOU FOR 100K!!!!
I am banning everyone who told me to play Jedi Survivor and Clair Obscur. Enjoy being banned forever. WHY DO YOU THINK MY HEART CAN HANDLE THIS MANY BETRAYALS IN A ROW?!?!?!?!?!?
