hola folks, school is starting soon which means the stream is coming back soon. more details on the way. i'm gonna start streaming from a different channel: youtube.com/c/studywithmika/

I think the stream got too big which was pretty bad for my mental health, so hoping to keep this one pretty low key. will try to keep it underground for as long as possible :^)

here is the plan with my three channels:

James Scholz (this one) - weekly edited videos. vlogs / study related videos (tips about how to study better / longer) / edited study with me (2 - 6 hrs, music (?), different locations (?), more creative) / lifestyle and stuff
jvscholz - weekly technology videos, not very serious, experimental
study with mika - daily study with me streams like i've been doing. I'll be on campus next semester so it's unlikely that i'll be able to sit down for 12 hours every day. will try to stream as long as possible though. schedule out soon once I finalize my next semester class schedule

also! looking for two video editors to produce one video a week each! one will be for this channel, and the other will be for the jvscholz channel.

hey guys, I don't want want to make excuses but this week has been really rough for me due to things in my personal life. as you can tell, this has reflected on the stream. I've never been so inconsistent at streaming and I've been really hard on myself for that. I promise next week and the duration of the stream this summer will be better. I have really high expectations of myself and I've really fallen short of that as of late. I think that this alongside other factors in my life involving my family, relationships, personal confidence, and lack of sleep has made me really gloomy. it's hard to perform when personal necessities aren't in check. I guess I just don't feel good when I'm not performing up to my expectations which isn't a great mentality. anyways, thank you guys for putting up with me. I've been really opaque and it must've not been fun as someone who uses my streams to study. I've revamped a lot of my personal systems and resolved a lot of the issues. I'm confident that I'll bounce back stronger.

hey guys, I’ve said this before but I’d like to say it again- thank you so much for the tremendous amount of support you’ve given my channel. I’m truly humbled and blessed to be in this position. today we hit 300,000 subscribers- a milestone I never even considered possible at the start of my channel. thank you so much. the amount of people that have reached out to tell me their stories mean the world to me. I still remember hitting 20 viewers for the first time. I still remember hitting 100 subscribers, then 1000 subscribers. this has grown to something so much bigger than me and that is truly inspiring.

as the pandemic is coming to an end for me, I’ll be starting the next chapter of my life (now as an adult). while this is exciting, it’s also terrifying. I’ve had a lot of trouble sleeping recently due to this, thinking about what I want to do with myself, this channel, and this community. things won’t be the same for the foreseeable future (unless another pandemic strikes). for better or for worse, I’ll eventually have to start moving towards in-person classes and transition back to regular life. this summer I’ve enrolled in a few classes which mandate in-person attendance. **this means that I won’t be able to stream for as long as I typically do.** the updated stream schedule may be found at tinyurl.com/jvscholz *subject to change. I highly suspect this will remain the case for my remaining time in school.

as I previously mentioned, I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping recently. It’s 1 am as I’m writing this. also, given the fact that I haven’t taken an actual break from the stream/studying since January, I think it’s a good idea for me to rest before my summer classes start. I’d also like to take this opportunity to think critically about the future of this community as well as reflect upon my past actions. I will try to stream tomorrow, however, if this doesn’t happen I’ll be back on May 31 (with shorter hair). the weekend patreon streams will still continue, however, starting an hour later than usual. to those of you with finals still impending, I with you the best of luck. I’m sorry that I couldn’t be there for you. please make me proud though! I also apologize for such a short notice. this should have been decided upon much earlier.

while you’re reading this, I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful moderators Britt, Courtney, and omo as well as our discord moderators. without them, I would have given up a long time ago. they are truly the unsung heroes of the community and their contributions should be recognized. they are responsible for maintaining our community atmosphere, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
