Emmanuel Jal
Born into the life of a child solider in the war-torn region of Southern Sudan on an unknown date, Emmanuel Jal managed to survive and emerge as a recording artist, achieving worldwide acclaim for his unique style of Hip Hop and Afro pop with its message of peace and reconciliation. That message has carried through all of Jal’s work, whether it be his books "My Life is Art" and “Warchild”, his widely-shared Ted Talk, co-starring with Reese Witherspoon in the motion picture “The Good Lie”, and even reconciling with healthy eating by launching the instant powder super food "Jal Gua". Emmanuel Jal has been nominated for 2 Junos in the 'Best International Album' cateogry and has released 7 studio albums: Gua, Ceasefire, Warchild, See Me Mama, The Key, Naath and Shangah.
He has also released multiple Afrohouse hits such as Kuar, Gorah and Yuma.
