Hello! My name is Matthew. I am a Christian video game developer on a mission to change the industry (and the world). Join me for devlogs and adventures as I explore the intersection between faith and game design.
Happy New Year, everyone! I realize it's been a while since my last video, so here's a quick update:
Becoming a full-time developer has paradoxically given me less time for this YouTube channel. I've been learning a lot about video game marketing, and it turns out YouTube isn't a great top of the funnel for game marketing. I've taken a couple of months off to recover from sunk cost fallacy as I consider what this channel will become.
I decided that I want to put out a few more devlogs as I finish my first Steam game. Number 2 is almost done, and I might even have a playable demo to go with it. I have some pretty good metric tracking now, so I think that I can actually measure the impact of devlogs on the game's visibility to see if they are worth it.
My primary hope for the channel this year is to push farther into the world of Christian Game Development. There aren't really any channels exploring these topics, so I think that I can make a meaningful contribution by combining my love of theology with a love for games. I'm still figuring out the details, but those videos will hopefully start in the next month or two. Either way, thank you all for being here! I'm looking forward to whatever this new year brings, and I hope that you are too :D
