Hey all I wanted to give you an update on my unexpectedly long hiatus. I have been hard at work over the last many months, but I've also been busy securing new employment. I am hoping to share some of my latest work with you before July ends, but I cant make any promises as my life is going to continue to be hectic until September, when I will be able to resume part time commitment to writing and production again. The good news is that I have some really special projects in the works, and when I have the budget to accomplish them I expect you'll enjoy what I've been working on. Thank you to my regular supporters, newcomers, and everything in between.

So my exitement about Switch 2 is definitely dampened by the price of games and the general state of the US economy, but it is really exciting to have the console itself be everything I could have ever wanted. Never in a million years would I have expecting a 4k 120hz HDR compatible Nintendo console. regardless of the internal specs, this thing isn't just current gen its future proofed. Even if most/no AAA games hit those numbers, having a system that can blanket output at that is so exciting. I've been very happy with the OLED Steam Deck and I am really thrilled that the Switch 2 is not only NOT a downgrade. but a full on upgrade from that. I expected to have to make some compromises but damn. NOPE

Hey all, SkyloftGames is going to be going under some significant changes in the coming few days. As I move forward in various fields of my life, I think there is a benefit to unifying all of my artistic endeavors under the same alias, and so the channel will be under Ben Bodnar going forward.

One of my goals for this year is to nail down a recognizable style, and I think I'm getting closer with this move.

‪@SkyloftYaps‬ will keep that handle for the foreseeable future, and I'll keep re-uploading content over there as I trim down the stuff on this channel. For the sake of searchability and whatnot, my @ on this channel will remain ‪@bdodnar‬
for a while as well.

In large part I am moving away from the SkyloftGames name because I simply don't want to limit myself in any way. I don't want to set any expectation with my name, and breaking away from the old name will give me the freedom to create whatever I wish. Worry not though, channel content will stay mostly the same, though I am upping production value pretty significantly and spending more energy on my passion for film-making.

I'll be uploading a essay in the coming days that will be my first game-less video, and I'm very excited about the material, so keep a look out for that.

Hey all, as I narrow my vision of what I want from this channel, I've been delisting a lot of my older videos/more conversational pieces, but I'm sentimental and like to keep old stuff up to chart my growth, so I'm in the process of reuploading it all over on ‪@SkyloftYaps‬

I might use the channel for other new stuff in the future, but maybe not. We'll see!

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! And as the year wraps up I just want to give a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has watched and subbed to the channel this year. This is my third year on youtube and the year I finally think I found what my style is. This year has been filled with incredibly positive reception to my work, and I cannot tell you how nice it is to publish something and have floods of comments come in from people experiencing similar struggles, or expressing how I was able to put words to feelings that they've struggled with. Ultimately I think one of the most important roles Art fills is exactly that, to put words to feelings we don't know how to deal with. I am excited to see where the new years takes me. Cheers all
